Break from the Norm with the Deviant Theme
While you might not be an actual deviant, you may want to consider using the Deviant theme when you are creating your next blog. The theme has a very different design from many of the others that you will see on most peoples' blogs. It features a grunge background with another interesting design element. On the left side of the theme is a piece of brown paper torn from a notebook, giving the overall theme more character. The theme includes a host of great features that bloggers are going to love. If you are looking for something new and different, this is a nice choice.
Color Schemes for the Deviant Theme
While the brown grunge and paper background elements of the theme remain the same, you have several great color options that you can choose for the highlights of the site. Choose from red, blue, green orange black and purple skins for these elements. One of the great things about the theme is that it is so simple to change the colors. If you don't like the look of red, for example, then you can choose one of the other colors with the click of a button on the theme's option page. It is fast and simple.
Other Things to Know about Deviant
You have some options with the layout as well. If you do not want to use the abbreviated post structure of the default, you can always choose for the traditional blog style layout instead. When you choose this option, your posts will display just as they would on any other blog site. It is nice to have these options and the ability to change from one to another when you are trying to develop your site. You can do everything easily and without a lot of guesswork.
Using the theme has some other advantages as well. Deviant uses TimThumb, so it will automatically resize any images without you needing to do a lot of work. The localization feature of the theme, for translation purposes, is also much easier to use.
Users have the ability to change many of the different features and settings on the theme without any trouble when they use the ePanel options. From the general settings to changing colors and employing search engine optimization tactics, it is all easy. Users will be able to place advertisements on the theme if they wish. You will have space to add 125x125 banners into your sidebar as well as 468x60 ads to your posts. This is optional though, and you don't have to use ads if you do not want them. Add shortcodes to give your blog more style and use template pages to make your work easier.
Deviant is a Great Choice
As you can see from the design elements and layout, as well as all of the options to customize the theme, it's a great choice for bloggers. Whether you are new to blogging, or you've been doing it for years, you will appreciate the unique look and the great features that this theme can offer.
